Ciner Glass Launches Cutting-Edge Glass Production Facility in Lommel, Belgium
Ciner Glass is constructing a new container glass production facility at Kristalpark III in Flanders, Belgium. Located in Lommel, the plant will be built in phases and include two furnaces, warehouses for raw materials and finished products, an administrative building, parking areas, rainwater infiltration basins, and various utility facilities. The facility will have a production capacity of 1,300 tons of glass per day, equivalent to approximately 7 million glass bottles, and will utilize 75% recycled glass, thereby reducing energy consumption by at least 20%. An automated warehouse with a capacity to store 250 million bottles will optimize logistics.
This project represents an investment of over €500 million, marking it as one of the largest foreign investments in Belgium. It is expected to create up to 500 direct jobs. Lommel’s strategic location near the port of Antwerp will facilitate efficient export of container glass to markets beyond Belgium and the Netherlands.
