Reviving Mesopotamia: The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers Building in Baghdad
The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers Building Project (BCOM-Baghdad) is located in the Green Zone of Baghdad, Iraq. The project covers a total construction area of approximately 135,000 square meters and includes two towers, each standing 75 meters high with 16 floors, a 4-story podium, and various ancillary buildings with different functions. The design for this prestigious project was selected through a competition involving 30 international firms.
Strategically situated in one of the most important areas of Baghdad, the building draws inspiration from the revival story of Mesopotamia. This inspiration is reflected in the façade and landscape planning, which prominently feature water elements, all while being in close proximity to the Tigris River.
